My favorite artist is Joan Miro, the Spanish surrealist painter (1893-1983). His work is an expression of the subconscious in free form. He uses brilliant colors superimposed with playful, delicate lines and abstract, amoebic shapes. His works often have a humorous quality. His backgrounds are usually neutral and rendered in a limit of basic colors.
